Element Hotel Kuala Lumpur

17 Jun 2018

Our PEN-KUL flight arrived on time. We took a Grab from KLIA to Element Kuala Lumpur, situated in the 274-metre high Ilham Tower, designed by the globally acclaimed Foster+Partners:

Hotel entrance:

Loved the tall automated entrance doors:

Lobby area:

Festive greetings:

Made our way to the hotel lobby on level 40:

The lobby expands to a 360 degree panoramic view of the Kuala Lumpur city skyline. Level 40 is also where Trace, the all-day-dining restaurant and bar is located.

Had a quick lunch at Trace. The Nasi Ayam Kukus is to die for:

Made our way to Level 42:

My room was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which was connected to one of two twin studio rooms I booked.

The kitchenette and separate living area was great as my wife's sister and her family of 4 were also having a staycation at Element. The suite was a great gathering place for the 6 kids.

The whole squad at dinner in Trace:

The 39th floor is where the spa, in-door swimming pool, gym and exercise rooms are located. We had the pool all to ourselves the first evening:

View from the pool area:

The location was in the city centre which proved to be a bad choice during the Raya holidays because of the traffic jam. Other than that, I found the hotel to be just fine, housed no doubt in a Grade A beautifully designed building. They gave me free breakfast for the six of us as my Platinum benefit. 4PM late checkout for all three rooms. Spacious one-bedroom suite upgrade. For RM250++ a room night, it was a bargain of a stay.
