After a one-night stay at W Boston we moved to The Liberty, closer to where we had to be the following day:
It was just about to start raining when we arrived at the old Charles Street jail (enjoying life anew as a luxury hotel):
Entering the beautiful lobby area:
Champagne during check-in was a nice touch. We were soon on our way to our Charles River Suite;
Charles River Suite lounge area (pic from hotel website because I forgot to take one):
Loved the dining table:
Hotel pic of the bedroom because my shot was terrible:
Appreciated the 1.5 bathrooms and excellent Molton Brown amenities (sold at the concierge desk):
Chose breakfast at Clinks as my Platinum benefit. Worked off most of it at the gym at Level 2:
The hotel is obviously a popular destination. During our stay there were weddings, official photoshoots and events. The lobby area transforms into a bouncer-guarded nightspot but a wave of your hotel access card is all it takes when you come back at night.
I enjoyed the stay but we found the concierge service lacking. While purporting to be a member of Les Clefs d’Or USA, we encountered sub-standard service for relatively simple tasks requested. Would probably stay elsewhere should we return to Boston in the future.
