We stayed for 3 nights before embarking on the Rocky Mountaineer Coastal Passage Western Explorer tour.
Original plan was to stay at the Four Seasons but Rocky Mountaineer only has a working relationship with the Fairmont. I thought it might be best to just let them handle the entire trip.
Fairmont Olympic Seattle Lobby & Refurbished Deluxe Room bed
Emailed the hotel requesting and was given a newly renovated room on the 10th floor. Modern inclusions like USB charging ports by the bedside were welcomed.
The hotel's location was good for us, the deco was old-world and while charming, certain areas are looking rather tired.
What caught us by surprise were how many times we were put on hold when calling the Front Desk/Concierge. On two occasions, after being to made to wait before being entertained, we were cut off in the middle of our call and put on hold again! Not exactly what one would expect from a five-star hotel.
Nit-picking perhaps but it did come up a little short. Would choose newer establishments like the Four Seasons next time we are in Seattle.
