The weather turned gloomy making our journey from Lake Louise here a forgettable one. We arrived well after 4pm and were greeted with a harp angel in the lobby of this historic Scottish baronial style hotel.
The Fairmont President's Club line was short so we were checked in promptly. The hotel itself is huge and it is quite easy to lose your bearings. Clearer signages would have been appreciated, especially in the dimly lit mezzanine and lobby level of the castle-themed hotel.
We found the staff to be excellent in all respects, including suggesting the complimentary car service (in a brand new BMW X5) to the town area.
We made our way back on foot after some souvenir shopping and had a great Chinese dinner at the Silver Dragon restaurant which was on the way.
Chinese food never tasted so good! After stuffing ourselves to our hearts' content, we burnt off some calories in a brisk walk back to the hotel in nippy conditions and retired for the night.
Wished our room had a better view (ours was facing the conference centre) but it was ok for an overnighter.
