Arrived at the Sofitel in the evening from Budapest:
French architect, Jean Nouvel's "presque rien - scarcely anything" design worked for us. We loved the look and layout of our all white room:
contrasted with the totally dark/black lobby and the colourful ceiling of the 18th floor iconic restaurant/bar area:
Staff were almost too polite and eager to assist but some of the restaurant waiters did leave a faint trail of snootiness. This was the view during breakfast:
View from our room:
Sofitel Vienna's location was a great base for our time in Vienna. It is very close to the main shopping area and restaurants. Upon our arrival, the concierge recommended Goldene Zeiten, a highly-rated Chinese restaurant within walking distance. It was an expensive lesson, sky-high prices for normal comfort food. Stay away at all cost!! Other than that, it was a great stay.
