Niagara Falls

20 May 2014

On 18 May we started our East Coast tour flying from New York City to Niagara Falls. We had engaged the same private plane company from our West Coast tour to cover FRG-IAG-DCA-MDT-FRG. Highlights of our East Coast tour include Niagara Falls, Toronto, Washington DC, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian museums, Arlington cemetery, the Amish Country.

Our FRG-IAG flight was a great one. We were joined by many day-trippers: they would be flying back to New York at the end of the day while a selected few of us will continue on our 5-night tour. Wonderful red carpet arrival with champagne:

Did the Walk on White Water first:

Next up, we took a boat which starts off at a calm part of the Niagara River near the Rainbow Bridge.  The boat brought us past the American and Bridal Veil Falls:

before heading straight into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of the Horseshoe Falls:

We did the Journey Behind the Falls next which was great as well:

Our itinerary included two nights at the Sheraton on the Falls. On the second day we made a day-trip to Toronto and managed to catch the fireworks display over the Falls when we came back at night:

A double-rainbow the morning of our departure at Terrapin Point, Horseshoe Falls:

Niagara Falls: an awe-inspiring natural wonder.

NEXT: Washington D.C.
