After San Francisco our next destination was Fresno.
PRIVATE CHARTERED PLANE : OAK - FAT
Embraer EMB 120
Depart: 10:00AM (6 May 2014)
Arrive: 10:40AM (6 May 2014)
Time: 40 MIN
Arriving in Fresno, it was another walk-in walk-out affair:
Off the plane and straight onto our luxury coach to Kings Canyon National Park. No lines. No scanners or security hooplah.
I can get used to this.
On our way to Kings Canyon things got really strange because it started snowing. Rather heavily at that:
The sudden snow messed up the itinerary for our guide Giorgio. Some of us followed him down to the park but the weather was just too cold so we ended up going early for dinner at a local restaurant which was quite far away from our hotel. Took us an hour to reach but the food was nice:
Spent the night at a forgettable hotel which was close enough for our trip to Yosemite National Park the next day, departing 8AM.
Yosemite is a breathtaking place, majestic, grand and inspiring:
We only had time to do a short trail so we chose Mirror Lake. Took us around 40 minutes. Weather was just nice. Pity I only had an iPhone then to take pictures:
Definitely need a few days to explore Yosemite.
Our destination the following day was Las Vegas.
PRIVATE CHARTERED PLANE : FAT - LAS
Embraer EMB 120
Depart: 10-nish (8 May 2014)
Arrive: 11-nish (8 May 2014)
We were invited into the cockpit and took some pictures as we were flying over Bishop, California.
Reached Vegas, checked into the Luxor Hotel, had a sight-seeing tour followed by a forgettable buffet dinner. Freemont Experience was nice:
Not really a Vegas person, we were here just for the Grand Canyon. Set out early the next day and after a few hours, we were on the Skywalk:
On our last day we tried out Gordon Ramsay's Burgr at Planet Hollywood. Had to queue up for what was an ordinary burger really. Don't know what the fuss is all about:
We travelled from Las Vegas → Los Angeles by private plane flying LAS - BUR. Departed around 6PM, arrived back in LA and checked into the Beverly Hilton for three nights.
NEXT: Los Angeles
